Heroes Chronicles is a collection of five standalone games and two free expansions, delivering eight brand-new single-player campaigns. Built on the Armageddon's Blade/Shadow of Death engine, they include all the enhancements introduced by those expansions, such as the Conflux town, magical terrain types, and combination artifacts. Eight titles that bring back the beloved gameplay of Heroes of Might and Magic III. Eight chapters chronicling the tale of Tarnum, a warrior hero and savior of his people. After centuries of subjugation, Tarnum uncovers the truth about his ancestors and rallies a force of Stronghold units to challenge their ruthless rulers. Journeying through the harsh wastelands of his birthplace and the damp, misty marshes of the lowlands, he not only echoes but outshines the heroic legacy of his forebear, who once vanquished the arcane oppressors. This complete set of all eight Heroes Chronicles episodes lets you explore countless hours of adventure across the continent of Antagarich. "Heroes Chronicles: All chapters" features "Warlords of the Wastelands," "Conquest of the Underworld," "Masters of the Elements," "Clash of the Dragons," "The World Tree," "The Fiery Moon," "Revolt of the Beastmasters," and "The Sword of Frost."
Heroes Chronicles is a line of spin-off games built on the Heroes of Might and Magic III engine, featuring Heroes III-style scenarios. These scenarios were the only playable content included; to access features like individual maps, the map editor, or multiplayer, players still had to purchase the original Heroes III. The overarching story of the Chronicles takes place on Antagarich, centered around the character of Tarnum, who commands various armies and factions across the series. The released Chronicles include: Warlords of the Wasteland (2000). Tarnum's origin story follows a young Barbarian leading a rebellion against the tyrannical Wizard-Kings of Bracaduun. Conquest of the Underworld (2000). Tarnum's first journey as an Immortal Hero sees him take on the identity of an Erathian Knight in a battle against Demons, Necromancers, and Warlocks in the Underworld. Masters of the Elements (2000). Tarnum transforms into the very thing he despises, a Wizard, in a desperate attempt to aid the Wizards of Bracada in their mission to save the world from the destructive Elemental Lords. Clash of the Dragons (2000). Tarnum picks up a bow and fights as a Ranger to protect the Elves and Dwarves of AvLee from the ruthless Queen of Nighon, Mutare, and her army of deadly Dragons. The World Tree (2000). As a Barbarian, Tarnum defends the World Tree in northeastern Antagarich from evil Barbarians and Necromancers led by the demigod Vorr. This was offered as a free download for those who bought two Heroes Chronicles titles, though the installer only recognized the North American version. The Fiery Moon (2000). The sequel to The World Tree continues Tarnum's journey as he chases Vorr to a moon inhabited by the demonic Kreegan. This was also a free download for those who purchased three Heroes Chronicles games, but the installer was limited to the North American version. Revolt of the Beastmasters (2001). Tarnum ventures to the Mudlands of Tatalia, becoming a Beastmaster to liberate the Mudlanders from the oppression he once caused. This campaign was one of two featured in the single-disc release, The Final Chapters. The Sword of Frost (2001). Tarnum must take on the role of a Dungeon Overlord of Nighon to stop his former ally, the Elven Hero Gelu, from finding the Sword of Frost. This campaign was also one of two included in The Final Chapters.
