Summary

Import Tuner Challenge takes place on the Shuto Expressways in Tokyo, Japan. The game includes 415 opponents in total. It showcases C1 and Shinkanjo, similar to other TXR titles, but unlike TXR3, it doesn't include the expressways of Nagoya, Osaka, and Yokohama. However, two new Tokyo highway segments have been added: Rt.3 Shibuya and Rt.4 Shinjuku.

Storyline

After the 13 Devils were defeated once again in the Kaido Circuit, Motoya Iwasaki, known as the Speed King, vanished without a trace. Since his disappearance, drivers from all over Japan have flocked to Tokyo in hopes of claiming his legendary title. The hero of the story is Iwasaki's best friend, who goes on to defeat Bloodhound, Midnight Cinderella, Platinium Prince, Skull Bullet's gang, and ultimately the Phantom 9. Along the way, Bloodhound reveals to the racer the reason behind Iwasaki's long-standing depression: his girlfriend passed away from illness, and he wasn't there to support her.
