Summary

Judgment is an action-adventure title experienced from a third-person viewpoint. The game is a legal thriller rooted in the Yakuza universe of Kamurocho and follows private investigator Takayuki Yagami as he delves into a string of murders. It features Japanese actor Takuya Kimura and uses a combat system akin to Yakuza 0, allowing players to switch between different fighting styles—crane-style, designed for battling crowds, and tiger-style, tailored for one-on-one combat. The game also includes an investigation phase where players must uncover clues left by the perpetrator.

Storyline

A lawyer achieves the impossible, only for the victory to cost him everything. Now, as a wave of murders darkens the city and the legal system begins to falter, justice can no longer afford to remain impartial. Takayuki Yagami, the son of a slain attorney, was raised in the rough streets of Kamurocho by a yakuza leader who steers him toward the path of his biological father. Working at the Genda Law Office, Yagami takes on a high-stakes case: defending Shinpei Okubo, a man accused of murder, and proving his innocence. Against all expectations, Yagami wins, earning public acclaim. But his meteoric rise is short-lived. Just months later, Okubo savagely kills his girlfriend, stabbing her more than ten times with a kitchen knife before setting their apartment ablaze. Yagami is now the lawyer who let a killer go free—and everything he built comes tumbling down. Three years on, Yagami has abandoned his legal career to run a modest detective agency in Kamurocho’s red-light district, surviving on small jobs and gathering evidence. But even a city as corrupt as this is rattled by a series of brutal murders, each victim found with their eyes brutally removed. Yagami is pulled back into the legal world by his former firm, where he learns that to uncover this killer, he must confront the truth he failed to see three years ago. But can a man burdened by his past triumph over his own demons?
