Killzone 2 is the third installment in the Killzone series and picks up the story two years after the events of the first two titles. The gameplay is built around what the developers call Hollywood Realism, emphasizing scripted, movie-like action. The experience is entirely first-person, except for sections involving vehicle combat with a tank and an exosuit. Alongside the single-player story mode, the game features a team-based multiplayer mode known as Warzone, offering five distinct mission types (Assassination, Search & Retrieve, Search & Destroy, Bodycount, and Capture & Hold) across seven different classes. The multiplayer supports up to 32 players, with bots available to fill in any empty slots.
Two years following the Helghast invasion of Vekta, the ISA is launching an offensive on the enemy's homeworld, Helghan. The ISA's objective is clear: seize the Helghast leader, Emperor Visari, and dismantle the Helghast war effort. Taking control of Sev, a seasoned warrior and member of the elite Special Forces unit Alpha Team, players must command a squad of expert soldiers in a mission to neutralize the Helghast threat.
