Summary

King Arthur: Knights Tale blends an XCOM-inspired turn-based combat system with classic RPG elements, such as character progression, impactful choices that shape your journey, and the ability to upgrade your base at Camelot. The narrative centers on Sir Mordred, who journeys alongside a group of knights across Avalon in pursuit of King Arthur. This offers a fresh take on the well-known legend, as Mordred is traditionally depicted as Arthur’s treacherous nephew and sworn enemy. In this reimagined story, Mordred has already inflicted a fatal wound upon Arthur and now hunts him across the isle of Avalon to complete the task, as ordered by The Lady of the Lake.

Storyline

You are Sir Mordred, the archenemy of King Arthur, the once-feared black knight of the dark legends. You slew King Arthur, but as he lay dying, he delivered a fatal blow in return. Both of you perished—and yet, both of you endure. The Lady of the Lake, sovereign of the enchanted isle of Avalon, has resurrected you to confront a nightmare made real. She commands you to embark on a chivalric journey. She demands you complete what you started. Destroy King Arthur—or whatever form he has taken after she carried his lifeless body to Avalon.
