Summary
Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (or simply Knuckles in Sonic 2) is a platform video game created by connecting the Sonic & Knuckles cartridge to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 through the former's special "lock-on" feature. As the title implies, the game is nearly the same as Sonic the Hedgehog 2, except that Knuckles the Echidna takes the role of the main playable character, while Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles "Tails" Prower are not available for play.
