Summary

Lost Judgment is an action-adventure game created by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and released by Sega. As a follow-up to the 2018 title Judgment—which itself is a spin-off of the Like a Dragon series—the game centers on private investigator Takayuki Yagami as he delves into a case involving a suspect charged with both sexual misconduct and murder. Teaming up with his ally, former yakuza Masaharu Kaito, the dynamic duo is drawn into a case of a crime that appears impossible to solve, with the prime suspect holding an unbreakable alibi. What begins as a quest for vengeance soon spirals into a complex conspiracy involving multiple unexpected groups exploiting a flawed legal system. As more lives are lost and Yagami uncovers the truth, he must decide whether to uphold the law or pursue his own form of justice.

Storyline

December 2021, a Tokyo district court. Akihiro Ehara is on trial for allegedly assaulting a woman on a packed train. A video taken by a passerby, capturing his attempt to escape and eventual arrest, has gone viral, sparking public outrage and calls for the harshest possible punishment. “Three days ago, a corpse was discovered in a derelict building in Yokohama. Have you determined the identity yet?” he suddenly declares, sending shockwaves through the courtroom. His attorney, Saori Shirosaki, is convinced that key elements of the case have been ignored, especially since Ehara was never formally charged with the murder. Determined to uncover the truth, she reaches out to detective Takayuki Yagami for further investigation. How could Ehara be responsible for two crimes at the same time? Was the sexual assault merely a distraction? Has Ehara manipulated the entire legal system? As more victims come forward and Yagami delves deeper into the mystery, he faces a difficult choice: uphold the law, or pursue true justice? From a single misstep, a person can become a monster…
