Summary
Martha Is Dead is a haunting first-person psychological thriller, taking place in 1944 Italy, where the boundaries between reality, folklore, and the devastation of war become increasingly unclear.
Storyline
As the battle between German and Allied troops escalates, a woman's lifeless body is discovered submerged in water—Martha! Martha is gone, and her twin sister Giulia, the young child of a German soldier, must now face the unbearable grief of her death and the consequences of her brutal murder. The search for answers is clouded by eerie local legends and the escalating terrors of war closing in around her.
