NCAA Football 08 is a college football video game developed by EA Sports, the sports division of Electronic Arts. It follows NCAA Football 07 in the NCAA Football series. The game was officially revealed with the launch of the NCAA 08 section on the EA Sports website on February 20, 2007. EA Sports had introduced a poll on their NCAA Football 07 site where fans could choose a feature to be added to the PlayStation 2 version, which became the first console confirmed for the game and revealed at least one of its features. Players could vote for in-game saves, medical red shirts, summer workouts, or a lead blocker option. The medical red shirts feature was selected and won, and it was included in Dynasty Mode across all versions of NCAA Football 08. This feature allows players who suffer injuries during the season to apply for an additional year of eligibility. The game launched on July 17, 2007, and marked its debut on the PlayStation 3, becoming the eleventh entry in the NCAA Football series to carry the "NCAA Football" title. Like its predecessor, NCAA Football 08 includes limited integration with ESPN.
