NCAA Football '06, often referred to as College Football 2006, is a college American football video game that launched on July 11, 2005. It follows NCAA Football 2005 as the next entry in the NCAA Football franchise. The cover showcases former Michigan Wolverines star and Heisman Trophy recipient Desmond Howard, making him the sole cover athlete who hadn't played in the year preceding the game's release; Howard's last season with Michigan was in 1991. This title is the only one in the series up to 2013 to include a full music soundtrack, while other entries typically feature school fight songs and band arrangements. It also marks the final game in the series to include FCS (Division I-AA) teams.
