NCAA Football 2003, available on PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, and Xbox, showcased University of Oregon quarterback Joey Harrington on its box art. Among the new additions were more than 200 officially licensed fight songs, 3D cheerleaders, and 144 distinct colleges represented in the game. The Dynasty mode received upgrades, allowing players to redshirt athletes and set up non-conference matchups prior to each season. Introducing real-world inspired college football honors, the game also included a system for earning and collecting trophies. These awards, such as the Heisman, Coach of the Year, and Bowl-specific honors, could be displayed in a virtual trophy room. The title also included 23 rivalry trophies designed to mirror their real-life equivalents. Returning in this version was the Create-A-School mode, which had been missing from the prior year's release. The game also introduced a customizable interface for the first time, letting players select their favorite team. The interface would then reflect that team's fight song, mascot, logos, and color scheme.
