Summary
Persona 2: Eternal Punishment is a role-playing video game created by Atlus and serves as the third entry in the Persona series in chronological order. Set in the fictional Japanese city of Sumaru, it is a direct follow-up to Persona 2: Innocent Sin. A year after the events of Innocent Sin, the story follows reporter Maya Amamo as she delves into the Joker Curse, a sinister phenomenon in which people's wishes and rumors manifest into reality, leading to widespread chaos. As she and her allies uncover the truth, they gain the power to summon Personas, manifestations of their inner selves. The game employs turn-based combat where characters use their Personas to fight demons, along with a unique Rumor system that allows rumors circulating in the city to impact the story and benefit the characters.
