Rockman.EXE Operate Shooting Star was launched on November 12, 2009, for the Nintendo DS in Japan. It serves as an enhanced version of the original Mega Man Battle Network title, featuring additional content and a crossover with the Mega Man Star Force series. Capcom has not announced any plans for an international release at this time.
The game follows the same storyline as the original, with the only change being the inclusion of two events tied to the Mega Man Star Force series: In the opening, Harp Note is captured by ClockMan.EXE (a NetNavi capable of time travel through warp holes), who flees to the Mega Man Battle Network era, 200 years in the past. Dr. Goodall creates a warp hole to let the Star Force Mega Man pursue them, and cautions him that he can only return to his own time if he tracks down ClockMan. Following the fight with ElecMan.EXE, ClockMan takes Roll.EXE hostage, and MegaMan.EXE begins searching the Internet for her after learning a mysterious blue Navi was nearby. When he encounters the Star Force Mega Man, MegaMan.EXE assumes he is responsible for Roll's capture and confronts him, but soon discovers his innocence and the two team up to take on ClockMan. After they defeat ClockMan, Mega Man (SF) and Harp Note return to their own time, and Mega Man (SF) gives MegaMan.EXE a program that enables the player to use him and his Battle Chip. An extra scene is shown during the credits, depicting the Star Force Mega Man and Harp Note safely returning to their timeline, where they are welcomed by their friends, though Luna is less than thrilled to see the two together.
