Natsume's latest foray into the world of extreme sports gaming places players in command of a team of elite synchronized skydivers. Just like in real life, there's a brief window between exiting the aircraft and deploying the parachute, and the game's challenge lies in maneuvering the free-falling team into stunning formations before time runs out. Players can guide their squad against a series of computer-controlled international opponents or compete directly with a friend. With over 40 unique formations available, each team offers a variety of styles, and a practice mode lets players refine their techniques without the pressure of a countdown.
In Skydiving Extreme, you guide your team of skydivers through a series of formations in a unique blend of skydiving simulation and rhythm-based gameplay. You can either practice your moves or challenge another player or the computer. At the start of a match, your team of four skydivers leaps from the plane, and you have a limited time to complete more four-person formations than your opponent. Successfully completing a formation slows your descent, giving you more time to perform additional tricks. To execute a formation correctly, you must input the button sequence shown on the screen within a short window. If done right, your team will shift into the formation. Formations are performed in order, and if you miss one, you must restart the sequence from the beginning. The goal is to complete as many tricks as possible before your team descends too low and must deploy their parachutes. You can also "attack" your opponent by successfully completing tricks, which fills your attack meter. Once full, you can launch an attack, forcing the other team to defend by performing a specific formation. If they fail to complete it, they will descend at a faster rate.
