Sonic Rivals

Summary

The story kicks off with Dr. Eggman using his new invention to transform Tails, Amy Rose, Rouge, and the Master Emerald into cards. Sonic and Knuckles arrive at the scene and discover what's happened. Determined to rescue the Master Emerald, Knuckles tells Sonic that working together isn't an option and that he must reach Eggman first. Sonic smirks and says he enjoys a good challenge. At the same time, Shadow the Hedgehog receives a distress call from Eggman. Out of nowhere, a hedgehog from the future named Silver appears. Silver is then chased by Shadow. When they meet, Silver urges Shadow to get to Eggman first. After several confrontations, it's revealed that the villain is actually Eggman Nega, while the real Dr. Eggman was captured and turned into a card before the events of the story. In a final showdown with Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, and Silver, Nega is defeated, everyone is restored to their original forms, and Silver returns to the future with Eggman Nega trapped inside a card.
