Summary
Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly is the fourth title in the Spyro the Dragon series and the first to launch on the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube. The gameplay mirrors that of the prior three console entries. Spyro is the sole playable character, though he can pilot several vehicles: the Hunter's Manta Ray and UFOs return from Year of the Dragon, joined by two new additions, the tank and the Spitfire fighter plane. The game encountered development challenges that impacted the final result, leading to a subpar product. Upon its release, it was heavily criticized for its numerous bugs, lengthy load times, and inconsistent frame rate, earning it the reputation of being the worst game in the series from both fans and critics.
Storyline
The tale unfolds just after the Year of the Dragon. The dragons are gathered to celebrate a rite of passage for the young dragons and the Grand Dragon Parade, marking the arrival of new dragonfly guardians for the baby dragons. But the festivities are interrupted when Ripto bursts in through a portal, accompanied by his henchmen Crush and Gulp, determined to seize the new dragonflies in an effort to weaken the young dragons. However, Ripto's spell goes awry, scattering the dragonflies across the Dragon Realms. Spyro is then called upon to retrieve the newly hatched dragonflies and reunite them with their young charges.
