Summary

Following the success of Star Fox, Nintendo planned a sequel for the same system. However, with the Nintendo 64 on the horizon, the company scrapped the project even though it was almost finished. Several elements from this unreleased title later appeared in Star Fox 64, including the introduction of Star Wolf. The game's source code eventually surfaced and was compiled into a playable ROM. It was later made available as an unlockable title on the SNES Classic, its first official release. The game has since also been added to the Nintendo Switch Online service.

Storyline

Andross is back, and this time he's armed with two colossal superweapons, interplanetary ballistic missiles, and a fleet of fighters and bombers all aimed at Corneria. It falls to two members of the Star Fox team to protect Corneria from Andross's weapons of mass destruction, sneak into enemy strongholds, and ultimately take down Andross himself.
