Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster will be powered by Nightdive Studio’s custom KEX engine, offering support for up to 4K resolution at 120FPS, modern controller compatibility, enhanced cutscenes, and the addition of trophies and achievements to enrich the original gameplay. Players take on the role of Kyle Katarn, a mercenary enlisted by the Rebel Alliance to uncover and dismantle the Galactic Empire’s Dark Trooper initiative, a secret military effort aimed at creating stormtroopers with Force sensitivity and advanced battle droids. Star Wars: Dark Forces showcases iconic settings from the original trilogy, such as the interior of a Star Destroyer and Jabba the Hutt’s desert barge, along with entirely new environments exclusive to the game. Since its initial launch, Star Wars: Dark Forces has maintained a dedicated fanbase. It was added to Steam in 2009 and has even been partially integrated into official Star Wars continuity, with the Dark Troopers appearing in the second season of The Mandalorian.

Storyline
