In December 2010, Capcom launched an arcade version of Super Street Fighter IV known as Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition. This edition introduced new fighters Yun, Yang, Evil Ryu, and Oni, along with adjustments to the current characters.
Super Street Fighter IV occurs concurrently with Street Fighter IV, taking place several months after the events of Street Fighter II, making it chronologically positioned between Street Fighter II and Street Fighter III. Following M. Bison's survival from his clash with Akuma, the S.I.N. corporation launched another fighting tournament aimed at attracting the world's most formidable warriors to advance the BLECE project. Each fighter enters the competition for their own reasons, but S.I.N.'s true objective is to entice Ryu into their grasp in order to study the Satsui no Hadō, which they believe is the final key to completing BLECE.
