Drawing heavy inspiration from the sci-fi film "Alien," your mission is to either capture or eliminate the alien aboard your ship or initiate the self-destruct sequence. To achieve this, you must assign your crew members various tasks, such as gaining access to the computer system, constructing weapons, and more.
The U.F.P. Research Vessel Thrasybulus begins its slow departure from orbit. On the monitors, the planet beneath appears as a violent, unwelcoming expanse of browns and grays. You ease back as your crew initiates the procedures to ready the ship for the lengthy journey through the stars. Then, an alarm blares. You swiftly summon your crew to the bridge, where Professor De Vries informs you that the alien specimen discovered on the planet has broken free during her experiments. In the chaos of its escape, several lab animals also vanished. It's crucial to recapture the creature, so you immediately issue orders to begin a ship-wide search. A few short hours later, you're moving carefully through the port ventilation duct, scanning for signs. Engineer Benson rigged up some temporary electric prods to assist in capturing the alien, and you hold one at the ready as you advance. The smooth voice of your lieutenant, Rebecca Davis, crackles through your headset. "Commander, there's a life form nearby. Be cautious." "Thanks, Becky. I'll keep my eyes open." You proceed with care into a side corridor. Then you spot the source of your concern — one of the lab cats. Easing your tension, you scoop it up and turn to leave. But from behind some pipes, a shadowy figure emerges silently to cut off your path. As you jab at it with your prod, the only thought racing through your mind is, "How did it get so big?" Lieutenant Davis stares at the console, unblinking, as a soft scream echoes through the intercom. One of the life form indicators slowly dims and goes dark.
