Storyline

In 1958, three years following the events of the first game, aging mobster Hyman Roth convenes a meeting with the Corleone, Granados, Mangano, and Almeida families in Havana to explore their future business opportunities in Cuba under the leadership of Fulgencio Batista. Roth reveals his plan to distribute his enterprises among the four families upon his retirement. However, the attendees find themselves ensnared in the turmoil of the Cuban Revolution, during which Corleone underboss Aldo Trapani is fatally wounded in the ensuing chaos. Don Michael Corleone, his brother Fredo, and Trapani's top lieutenant, Dominic, manage to flee on a private aircraft. Michael then names Dominic as his new underboss, entrusting him with oversight of the family's operations in New York City.
