In Tony Hawk's first extreme downhill racing game, players race straight down mountains at high speed across 7 open locations like Machu Picchu, San Francisco, Rio de Janeiro, Edinburgh, Hong Kong, and more. They must avoid obstacles and reach the bottom first, all while using the Wii controller. By holding the controller sideways and tilting it left or right, players can steer and perform aerial flips. Pressing the 2 button makes the character crouch to gain speed and perform tricks. The 1 button is used for jumping and executing a variety of moves, serving as a general-purpose trick button. The Wii version supports local multiplayer with 4-player split-screen gameplay.
