Summary

Touhou Puppet Dance Performance is a spiritual follow-up to the Pokémon FireRed hack Touhou Puppet Play, where players train and collect puppets featuring characters from the Touhou series.

Storyline

Gensou Ningyou Enbuu sends players on an adventure through Gensoukyou, the iconic world of the Touhou Project series, as they pursue a dual mission: finding a way back home and uncovering the cause of a new crisis shaking the realm to its core—the sudden appearance of mysterious Puppets. These Puppets are modeled after key figures in Gensoukyou’s recent history, specifically every named character from Touhou 01: Highly Responsive to Prayers up to Touhou 14: Double Dealing Character. Each can be captured, trained, and used in battles against other players as you journey across the land. During your travels, you'll encounter an organization known as the Puppet Liberation Front, whose mission is to free Puppets from their trainers and allow them to live free from the control of both humans and youkai. Your journey takes you to many of Gensoukyou’s famous locations, from the Hakurei Shrine and the vast Forest of Magic to the towering heights of Youkai Mountain and the ancient ruins of the Capital, and beyond. Many of the series’ well-known characters have their own Puppet teams, and some can even be fought in battle if you cross their paths. For fans of both Touhou and Pokémon, this game offers a rich and engaging experience that’s hard to put down!
