Summary
Triple Play Baseball is part of the EA Sports lineup of MLB baseball simulations. This version came out in 2001 and would have been named Triple Play 2002 had the developers not decided to omit the year from the title. As with earlier versions, players can choose any team from the National or American League. Not much has changed in this edition, aside from the addition of a world tournament mode, which becomes available only after winning the World Series. The acclaimed EA Sports baseball series makes its return in this PlayStation release. Just like in past versions, players have control over nearly every aspect of Major League play, which takes place in digital recreations of real-world ballparks and includes all 2000 season teams, players, and updated stats.
