Storyline

Two years after the events of the first game, treasure hunter Nathan Drake (Nolan North) is contacted by former associate Harry Flynn (Steve Valentine) and Flynn's girlfriend Chloe Frazer (Claudia Black) to assist in stealing a Mongolian oil lamp tied to Marco Polo's ill-fated 1292 journey from China. The trio intends to betray Flynn's employer and claim Polo's riches for themselves. Flynn is unaware that Chloe and Nate once worked together, and Chloe plans to use that knowledge to blackmail him and flee with Nate and any treasure they uncover. Nate and Flynn infiltrate a museum in Istanbul and retrieve the lamp, which holds a map and a flammable substance that reveals Polo's fleet was wrecked in Borneo, carrying the Cintamani Stone from the legendary city of Shambhala. Flynn betrays Nate, leaving him to be captured. Three months later, Chloe helps Nate escape with his longtime friend Victor Sullivan (Richard McGonagle). She discloses that Flynn is working for Zoran Lazarević (Graham McTavish), a Serbian war criminal in pursuit of the stone. In Borneo, Nate and Sully sneak into Lazarević's base, with Chloe operating as a spy. Nate learns the stone never left Shambhala and finds a temple housing the remains of Polo's crew, along with a phurba and a map indicating that the stone's bearer can reach Shambhala via a temple in Nepal. Nate and Sully narrowly escape after being surrounded by Flynn and his forces.
