USAAF Mustang is a side-scrolling shoot 'em up arcade game originally created by NMK and released by UPL in 1990. A year later, Taito brought it to the Sega Mega Drive under the new title Fire Mustang, with NMK Co. Ltd. handling the development for that version. The game follows a typical side-scrolling shoot 'em up format, offering only a single standard weapon and a bomb. Players assume the role of a USAAF fighter pilot in a fictional World War II scenario, flying the iconic North American P-51 Mustang against enemies from the Nazi Luftwaffe and the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service.
