Drawing inspiration from the miniature and board games popularized by Games Workshop, the Warhammer 40,000 universe is a sprawling and brutal realm filled with bizarre alien species, including the Eldar. Rites of War presents a meticulously designed narrative featuring 24 missions and diverse victory conditions as you command the Eldar in their desperate struggle for survival. Additional scenarios grant control of Tyrannid and Imperial forces, while a glory point system enables you to build and personalize your own army, with eight unique troop types ranging from War Machines to Assault Troops to Devastator Squads. A progression-based experience system deepens the game’s RPG (Role-Playing Game) aspect, letting you enhance and tailor your units, improve warrior abilities, and utilize "psyker" (psychic) powers.
The enigmatic Eldar are the last remnants of a once-mighty civilization that once dominated the galaxy. They journey through the stars aboard massive vessels known as Craftworlds, in search of the Maiden Worlds crafted by their forebears in ages past. One of these worlds is now home to humanity and holds historical records and artifacts of immense power—treasures too significant to remain in human possession. This once-proud species now struggles to survive, determined to guard the ancient secrets and strength of their lineage from both the Imperium of Man and the malevolent, bio-engineered Tyranids, who seek to annihilate this bountiful sanctuary.
