Summary
Wild Arms is a Western-inspired role-playing video game created by the Japanese software company Media.Vision. Initially launched in Japan in 1996 for the Sony PlayStation console, it was later localized and released in North America in 1997 and in Europe in 1998 by Sony Computer Entertainment. The game stands out as one of the earliest role-playing titles on the PlayStation and among the rare ones to incorporate a Western American setting and theme. Standard gameplay uses 2D computer graphics, while combat scenes are presented in 3D.
Storyline
Set in the fantastical realm of Filgaia, *Wild Arms* chronicles the exploits of a ragtag group of dreamers and thrill-seekers known as the Dream Chasers, who roam the land in pursuit of adventure and riches. Players take on the role of a young boy named Rudy, who possesses the rare talent to wield Ancient Relic Machines—powerful weapon-like devices known as ARMs, remnants of a bygone era. Teaming up with his allies Jack and Cecilia, the trio must combine their unique abilities to traverse the sprawling deserts and labyrinthine dungeons of Filgaia, stopping an extraterrestrial menace from resurrecting their fallen leader and bringing about the world’s destruction.
