The All-Star Baseball video game series was created and released by Acclaim Entertainment. It launched in 1997 with All-Star Baseball '97 Featuring Frank Thomas, which followed Frank Thomas Big Hurt Baseball. For the 1998-2000 versions of the game, New York Yankees play-by-play commentators John Sterling and Michael Kay provided the broadcasting. The last title in the series, All-Star Baseball 2005, was released before Acclaim went bankrupt. Each game in the series offers various gameplay options, including exhibition matches, managing a real Major League Baseball team, or building a custom team. A number of North American cities are available for expansion, along with Mexico City and Puerto Rico. Derek Jeter appears on the cover of most of the games in the series.
