Summary
BS Ihatovo Monogatari is a downloadable four-part Soundlink game for the Satellaview, aired in at least two separate schedules from its March 2, 1997 launch through May 31, 1997. The title is a role-playing game inspired by the writings of Japanese author Kenji Miyazawa, and was released to celebrate the 100th anniversary of his birth. It serves as a follow-up to the 1993 SNES game Ihatovo Monogatari, which had also previously been transmitted via the Satellaview. Designed for the whole family and suitable for all age groups, the game draws on numerous beloved classics of Japanese children's literature.
BS Ihatovo Monogatari features voice narration at the beginning of each weekly episode, delivering dramatic readings of Miyazawa's poetry set in the fictional town of Ihatovo. Throughout gameplay, the Soundlink system delivers sound effects and helpful gameplay tips. The voice cast was chosen through a poll conducted by Seiyu Zasshi and includes Kikuko Inoue, Kouichi Yamadera, Yuka Imai, and Eiichi Onoda.
