Designed as a party game, *Cabela's Adventure Camp*, much like *Cabela's Survival: Shadows of Katmai*, stands out as an atypical entry in the Cabela's lineup. Instead of the usual focus on hunting, guns, and wild animals, *Adventure Camp* highlights the more family-friendly, outdoor, and camping elements of the Cabela's brand. In this game, the only form of hunting is with a bow and arrow, and the targets are simple cardboard cutouts of animals like deer—or sometimes just basic circular targets. The game features six playable characters, all kids or young teenagers who are "attending" a Cabela's-themed summer camp. Players can customize hair and clothing colors, and character stats are tracked. Another character, named Greg, occasionally causes trouble for the player in certain events, such as tossing boulders into the river during a kayaking challenge. Greg doesn't actively participate in gameplay, but he's often blamed for the unexpected obstacles or challenges that arise. The game includes a variety of activities such as kayaking, skeet shooting, archery, and bicycling. Two more unique mini-games are also featured: one is a hybrid of Whack-a-Mole and the classic memory game Simon, and the other is a Rock-Paper-Scissors-style game called "Bear-Hunter-Ninja," where players must assume specific poses to represent each character. With the exception of the Whack-a-Mole and Bear-Hunter-Ninja games, all other events have at least two different variations—usually different courses or challenges—and support two to four players. Throughout the game, players can collect coins and emblems, as well as large gems for bonus points.
