Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO is essentially the same game with slight adjustments to gameplay and the addition of the EO ("Easy Operation") system, which lets players execute specific moves by just moving the right analog stick in a particular direction. Like all other console versions, CvS2: EO includes four bonus fighters: Evil Ryu, Orochi Iori, Shin Akuma (known as Shin Gouki in Japan), and Ultimate Rugal (referred to as God Rugal in Japan), who are enhanced forms of four standard characters. Before choosing a team, players can select from "Grooves," which alter the gameplay experience, including "AC-ism" or "GC-ism" Grooves; GC-ism streamlines the control layout, originally tailored for the GameCube controller. In the Xbox version, this is called EO-ism. Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO also eliminates the Roll Cancel glitch that was present in earlier versions. Furthermore, the Xbox edition of CvS2: EO features online multiplayer for up to two players on Xbox Live and supports progressive-scan (480p) display, a feature missing from the PlayStation 2 version.
