Dinosaur Discovery is an educational game designed for use in schools. Educators incorporate the game alongside teaching resources to create an integrated learning experience covering English, Maths, Science, Drama, and Art. Based on the scenarios presented in the game, students can carry out classroom activities inspired by the game's narrative. Players begin in a shed, where they must choose which tools to bring into the game world and which to leave behind, though they can return to the shed at any time to swap items. As they explore, they face challenges involving basic English skills, such as word puzzles, compass navigation, time-telling, and interpreting map scales. Clues are provided through the game's museum and an elderly recluse, who shares the story of an explorer attempting to hatch dinosaurs on a remote, distant island. The game also includes an explorer's journal for students to read. This journal details the professor's travels through the game's different settings, his encounter with the hermit, and his eventual illness. The final entry is written in a different hand from the rest and is authored by the hermit, who reveals that the professor died the night before and has been buried in the desert.
