
The Kingdom of Oltaria has long enjoyed peace, thanks to the strength and wisdom of its ruler, Lord King Akinas. His beloved daughter, Princess FAQS, is on the cusp of her 16th birthday when disaster strikes. A sinister figure known as the Black Master emerges, driven by a twisted desire to claim the princess for himself. He kidnaps her and drags her into the dark realm of the Black Dream. The princess is ensnared in a deep slumber, and the king calls upon brave adventurers from across the land to confront the villain and save her. Many enter the Black Dream in search of her, but none return—none awaken. Determined to find answers, Sir Kleith, the Captain of the Royal Guard, sets out on a journey to seek the Dream Sage in a forest far to the south of Oltaria. After a perilous trek, Kleith finally reaches the sage, who is currently training a young apprentice named GAME to become a Dream Master. (A Dream Master is a guardian of dreams, sworn to use their powers to bring peace and healing, never to harm or corrupt.) Tragically, Kleith succumbs to his injuries after delivering the urgent news of the princess’s fate. The Dream Sage admits he is too aged to take on the mission, but he sees potential in GAME. And so, the adventure begins. GAME falls into a deep sleep, and the Black Master appears, dragging him into the first level of the Black Dream, where his abilities are immediately tested.
