Grand Prix 3 (GP3) is a computer racing simulation developed by MicroProse. It was released in 2000 by Hasbro Interactive and features the 1998 Formula One season, including all drivers except Jacques Villeneuve, who is substituted by a fictional character named John Newhouse. While not as successful as its earlier versions, it was still widely regarded at the time as the top racing simulation available. An expansion for the game, known as GP3-2000 or GP32k, was also issued by Hasbro, bringing the game up to date with the 2000 Formula One season. Additional improvements included enhanced damage physics with effects from on-track debris, better AI, a new replay system, and EAX 3D sound. With the arrival of Grand Prix 4, the GP3 modding community gradually diminished. As track editing in GP4 became accessible, many track modders transitioned to the newer game, leaving GP3 behind.
