Summary
James Bond 007: Agent Under Fire marks the debut of a James Bond video game on the PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Xbox. In the game, players step into the shoes of the iconic James Bond as he embarks on a series of missions across various global locations. Bond is dispatched to rescue Zoe Nightshade, a captured CIA operative held by Nigel Bloch. Nigel Bloch is the CEO of Identicon, a division of the powerful corporate giant Malprave Industries. Bond’s mission also involves recovering a set of DNA samples currently in Identicon's possession. Thus, James Bond begins yet another thrilling journey. The game integrates three distinct gameplay styles into one experience: a first-person shooter that dominates most of the missions, a rail-shooter where the player focuses solely on firing, and a driving segment where Bond pilots one of his signature vehicles. The game introduces a range of new weapons, including imaginative ones like the Photon cannon and the 5-way grenade launcher. Players have access to a variety of gadgets and tools, such as the Q-Claw, Q-Decoder, and Bond’s reliable Walther pistol. The game offers a wide selection of missions, each of which can be tackled either through direct combat or stealth. Performance in each level is evaluated based on score and difficulty, allowing players to unlock new content for both solo and multiplayer modes.
