Imagine discovering that the terrifying creatures lurking in kids' closets are actually part of a massive corporate scheme. That’s exactly the idea behind the 2001 Disney or Pixar movie *Monsters, Inc.*, and it serves as the foundation for this PlayStation video game. Take control of either Sully or Mike, two monsters employed to frighten children, as you travel from home to home, doing your best to perform your duties. Your employer is all about generating "scream energy," so the scarier you can be, the better your chances of success. The game's 3D settings are richly detailed and expansive, staying true to the film, and offer plenty of hidden rewards and power-ups to help you along the way.
Free-spirited monsters Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are undergoing training at a private facility owned by Henry J. Waternoose to become elite scarers. Only elite scarers are allowed to scare real children, as it's believed that children are extremely toxic to monsters and could cause self-harm. To stay safe, Mike and Sulley practice in a controlled setting where children are substituted with harmless robot stand-ins.
