A fantastic blend of action and RPG with gameplay that stands out from the rest. You play as Jack Mower, a guy from the 20th century who accidentally gets pulled into the realm of Nox through his television. The world is on the brink of disaster and it’s up to you to save it! But before you dive into your grand adventure, you must pick your class: warrior, wizard, or conjurer. Opt for the warrior path, and you’ll have access to a wide variety of weapons like swords, battle-axes, war hammers, and chakrams—while leaving the mystical stuff to the other classes. Warriors can use enchanted weapons as their only touch of magic, and honestly, who needs more when swords and strength are so much cooler? Go the wizard route and you’ll delve into the world of spellcasting, from clever illusions that baffle your foes to powerful bursts of magical energy. You’ll also learn to lay magical traps with deadly spell combos to catch enemies off guard. While you’ll have to say goodbye to heavy armor and swords, you can still use a staff for protection when things get rough. Pick the conjurer class and you’ll gain the ability to charm and summon creatures to fight for you. You can even summon a special creature known as a bomber to unleash magical destruction on your enemies. You’ll also master the use of staves and bows to handle any enemies that manage to get past your summoned allies.
Centuries before Jack's arrival in the Land of Nox—the fictional world at the heart of the game—a coven of Necromancers tried to take over the realm but were thwarted by the legendary hero Jandor, who wielded a powerful artifact known as "the Staff of Oblivion." After their defeat, Jandor sealed the Necromancers' souls inside a magical Orb, which was later carried to a different dimension by the Arch-Wizard Horvath—eventually revealed to be modern-day Earth. One of Jandor's final acts during the conflict was rescuing a baby girl discovered in the Necromancers' hideout. Uncertain whether she was a descendant of the dark sorcerers, he entrusted her to an Ogre settlement for safekeeping. He then dismantled the Staff and distributed its parts to the three dominant factions in the game: the Fire Knights of the fortress Dün Mir (the Halberd of Horrendous), the mages of Castle Galava (the Heart of Nox), and the conjurers of the Temple of Ix (the Weirdling Beast). Afterward, he adopted the moniker "Airship Captain," serving as a guiding figure to the player throughout the game.
