Summary
Unlike the SNES version, the Genesis edition of *Scooby-Doo Mystery* is a point-and-click (or more accurately, point-and-press) adventure game that includes two full episodes inspired by a classic Scooby-Doo cartoon.
**Blake's Hotel** – Daphne’s Uncle Blake invites the gang to his hotel for a fun-filled ski weekend. When they arrive, they discover that the ghost of the Ancient Chieftan is haunting the premises, scaring guests away because the hotel was built on his sacred burial ground. Soon, Uncle Blake disappears, and it’s up to Scooby and Shaggy to gather clues and uncover the truth behind the ghost.
**Ha Ha Carnival** – The gang visits a nearly empty carnival hoping for some excitement. Fred, Daphne, and Velma end up stuck in a ride that dumps them into a pond, and the rollercoaster has been sabotaged. Meanwhile, a sinister phantom clown chases Scooby and Shaggy through the carnival. It’s up to the duo to solve this spooky mystery.
In both stories, Scooby and Shaggy take the lead, gathering and piecing together clues. You primarily control Shaggy while Scooby tags along. The gameplay involves exploring the environment and selecting actions from a menu to interact with objects. A password system allows you to save your progress and pick up where you left off.
