Summary

For the first time, fans can battle players globally using iconic characters like Ivy, Taki, Mitsurugi, Talim, Maxi, and others.

Storyline

The game takes place four years after the events of Soulcalibur, placing its story in the year 1590 AD. The wave of massacres that had haunted Europe came to an abrupt halt. The knight clad in azure armor, Nightmare, and his followers had gathered enough souls and were about to begin the restoration ritual atop the ruins of the once-mighty Osthreinsburg Castle. But just as the ceremony was about to commence, three young warriors stormed the fortress. In a short span of time, the cult was vanquished, and Nightmare confronted the young fighters, wielding Soul Edge. After a fierce battle, Nightmare was defeated, yet the malevolent spirit within Soul Edge unleashed the warriors into a vortex of hellfire and faced them anew. Because of Soul Edge's dark influence, Krita-Yuga revealed its true form: the Holy Sword, Soul Calibur. The battle raged on, and in the end, the holy blade emerged victorious. But as the vortex of Inferno collapsed, both swords, along with the Azure Knight Nightmare, were drawn into a void and expelled elsewhere. Siegfried Schtauffen, once the Azure Knight, regained his own mind. Acknowledging his past sins, he embarked on a path of redemption. Yet the blade still held a powerful connection, and each night it seized control of his body, taking the souls of those around him. The young knight's attempts to break free proved futile, and four years later, the Azure Knight returned. During this time, various warriors encountered the remaining fragments of the blade, revealing Soul Edge's continued existence. After its defeat, the fragments began spreading chaos and corruption across the world. Motivated by the desire to either claim or destroy the evil sword, each warrior sets out on a new quest, while Nightmare resumes his violent crusade, seeking souls to reclaim the power needed to restore Soul Edge once more.
