Storm Master, a 1991 video game for the Amiga, Atari ST, and PC, was developed by the now-defunct French studio Silmarils. In the game, players assume the role of the ruling leader of a fictional semi-medieval nation. Like many titles from Silmarils, Storm Master was set in a European-inspired fantasy world. The gameplay centered on managing and leading the country of Eolia during a prolonged conflict with its rival, Shaarkania, with the ultimate aim of capturing—and effectively destroying—every enemy city.[1][2] The game stood out for combining turn-based strategy with real-time action sequences. These included air combat against enemy fleets or defenses, where players had to launch missiles at enemy ships or installations. Additional real-time gameplay involved performing a religious ritual to boost the nation's natural wind energy. This aspect was complemented by sending government officials across the country to develop and industrialize key sectors of the state. Amiga Action also highlighted the game's unique 'advance through time' mechanic, which gave players control over how quickly time progressed in the game.
