The SNES edition of the game retains the same VS mode and Action mode found in its predecessor, but introduces several key distinctions between the original and updated versions. Most notably, the visuals have been significantly enhanced, featuring vibrant colors that greatly improve the game's overall visual appeal compared to earlier iterations. Another major change is Yoshi's design, which has evolved from his NES appearance to a look more in line with the one presented in *Yoshi's Island*. The SNES version also introduces a new puzzle mode, challenging players to complete the game board within a set number of moves. This mode includes 100 distinct puzzles for players to solve.
