DeathStar is a Sinistar-inspired game featuring space combat in continuously scrolling environments where players maneuver a ship that can rotate in sixteen directions while constantly moving forward. By firing at planetoids, players release crystals essential for crafting starbombs, all while competing with AI-controlled workers and warriors who also mine these resources to build the eponymous DeathStar. When twenty crystals are collected and delivered by the workers, the DeathStar emerges and must be destroyed using the gathered starbombs. Each successful hit removes a section of the DeathStar, and defeating all twenty parts rewards players with 15,000 bonus points. The game is divided into four distinct zones—Worker, Warrior, Planetoid, and Void—each offering unique enemy types and resource distributions, with a radar system keeping track of all objects and adversaries during play.
