Both the original story and the game revolve around the development of a nuclear shelter known as "The Dome," designed to safeguard humanity from an approaching atomic conflict. In the game, players assume the role of a staff member at an advertising firm, tasked with promoting the shelter's significance and encouraging public donations to support the project. Novelware was an innovative approach aimed at countering repetitive gameplay while delivering in-depth, story-driven narratives. The game's script exceeded 700 pages, an unprecedented scale in the industry.
