A PlayStation port of Final Fantasy IV that introduces new opening and ending FMV cutscenes, along with gameplay enhancements like the ability to run in both dungeons and towns. It is primarily based on the original Japanese Super Famicom release but also incorporates changes from the Final Fantasy IV Easy Type version. Because of the PlayStation's CD-ROM format, it features longer loading times compared to the Super Famicom versions. The North American version, available only through the Final Fantasy Chronicles and Final Fantasy Anthology collections, includes a brand new English localization. Some translated phrases from Kaoru Moriyama's earlier work, such as "You spoony bard!", were retained due to their popularity among fans.
A child of the dragon, cradling both shadow and radiance, will ascend to the skies above the silent realm. Cloaking the moon in everlasting glow, he offers a vow to Mother Earth, bestowing abundance and favor. From the *Legend of Mysidia*
