Karakara is a Bishoujo visual novel set in an alternate, dystopian world where the peaceful and simple lives of Leon and Lucia, two dedicated diner owners, shift dramatically when they stumble upon an unconscious young woman collapsed by the roadside. Together, the trio will take bold steps to build a new life in a world that has been reborn. Karakara. It is the sound of dryness. The sound of cracked roads and dusty winds. The sound of unrelenting heat, and the sound of a fading species. The "Age of Dusk." A time of decline for humanity, when countless hybrids known as the "Others"—beings who are neither fully human nor entirely something else—roam the land. In a barren, waterless world, a small group of people struggle to survive in a reality they barely understand. Far from the town center, along a lonely stretch of highway, two of these individuals run a modest diner. For them, the grand changes that have reshaped the world mean little compared to how many meals they can prepare and deliver each day. After all, keeping customers satisfied is essential for survival, and survival is what keeps them going. Day in and day out, they are consumed by the never-ending work of running their diner. But their quiet, predictable routine is shattered when they find a large suitcase by the road on their way back from a delivery. Lying on top of it, motionless, is a girl with pink hair... Though the land is dry, they find comfort in each other, and though once empty, they now share in each other's strength. And so, they will continue to live in this barren world.
