Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter is a visually enhanced remake of the original fast-paced single-player and 16-player co-op arcade-style FPS, now fully supported on Steam and named Gamespot's Game of the Month!
The Second Encounter picks up right where the last game ended, with Sam heading to Sirius aboard the SSS Centerprice. Unfortunately, the starship is unintentionally struck by the "Croteam crate-bus" and tumbles toward Earth. As the ship descends, Sam checks the coordinates and worries about landing in Egypt once more, but this time he ends up crash-landing in Central America during the Mayan era, with the ship now severely damaged. Fortunately, hope isn't entirely lost, as the Sirians had prepared a "backup starship" on Earth as a contingency in case something ever happened to the SSS Centerprice. However, since this alternate vessel is located in a different time and civilization from where Sam now finds himself, he must track down the locations of the Sirian portals that will allow him to reach his goal.
