Storyline

**Sly 1:** Sly Cooper hails from a legendary lineage of master thieves known as the Cooper Clan, whose members only target other criminals, positioning them as vigilantes. The family’s most treasured possession is *The Thievius Raccoonus*, an ancient book that documents the secret moves and techniques of every Cooper through the ages. On his 8th birthday, Sly was set to inherit the book and unlock the family’s hidden knowledge, a rite of passage meant to make him a master thief. However, a brutal attack by a notorious gang called *The Fiendish Five*, led by the clan’s archenemy Clockwerk, shattered his life. The gang stormed the Cooper home, murdered Sly’s parents, and stole every page of *The Thievius Raccoonus*. After the tragedy, the criminals scattered across the globe to commit their own crimes. Sly was sent to an orphanage, where he met two future lifelong allies: Bentley, a genius inventor and hacker with a photographic memory who serves as the group’s strategist, and Murray, a large, timid, and gluttonous hulk who handles the heavy lifting and drives the getaway car. At 16, the trio left the orphanage together, forming *The Cooper Gang*, and vowed to become international vigilantes. Sly made a solemn promise to avenge his family and recover the stolen pages of *The Thievius Raccoonus* by tracking down the Fiendish Five. Two years later, the Cooper Gang travels to Paris to infiltrate Interpol, a global police headquarters, in search of a secret file containing information on the Fiendish Five. During the heist, they are ambushed by Inspector Carmelita Fox, an Interpol agent who has been hunting the Cooper Gang and toward whom Sly feels a growing romantic connection. The gang manages to steal the file and escape from Carmelita and the police. With the file in hand, they set out to locate the Fiendish Five. **Sly 2:** Two years after defeating Clockwerk, Sly Cooper infiltrates the Museum of Natural History in Cairo to retrieve and destroy the remaining parts of Clockwerk, ensuring his family is no longer a target. However, he discovers the parts are already missing. Inspector Carmelita Montoya Fox and her new partner, Constable Neyla, confront Sly, but he manages to escape before they can arrest him. Just before fleeing, Sly overhears Neyla suggest that the Klaww Gang may have taken the parts for their own purposes. The Cooper Gang travels to Paris, where the first Klaww Gang member, Dimitri, is using Clockwerk’s tail feathers to print counterfeit currency. The gang shuts down the operation, and Dimitri is arrested by Interpol. Next, they head to India, where the second Klaww Gang member, Rajan, is displaying Clockwerk’s wings at a lavish ball he is hosting. Rajan is also the leader of a criminal organization that cultivates and sells an illegal plant called "spice," native to the Indian jungle. At the ball are the other Klaww Gang members and several undercover Interpol agents, including Carmelita and Neyla. The Cooper Gang steals the wings during the event, with Sly distracting Carmelita by dancing with her. After escaping with the wings, Carmelita reveals her true identity and begins making arrests. The Klaww Gang flees, and Rajan hides in the jungle. The gang tracks him to an abandoned temple where he uses half of Clockwerk’s heart to super-irrigate his spice crops, while carrying the other half on a staff. The Cooper Gang retrieves both halves and defeats Rajan, but they are confronted by Carmelita, Neyla, and the Contessa. Neyla accuses Carmelita of collaborating with the Cooper Gang during the wing heist and betrays the team, arresting Sly, Murray, and Carmelita. **Sly 3:** Set a year after the events of *Band of Thieves*, Sly Cooper, Bentley, Murray, and other allies attempt to open the Cooper Vault on Kaine Island. However, they are intercepted by Dr. M, the island’s owner. Murray and Bentley manage to escape, but Sly is captured by a monstrous creature. As he is grabbed, Sly experiences a vision of his life, and the game transitions into a flashback. Sly learned about the Cooper Vault’s location from his father’s old friend, Jim McSweeney. The vault holds the accumulated wealth of the Cooper Clan over centuries. When Sly arrived to claim it, he found that Dr. M had built a fortress on the island in an attempt to access the vault’s riches. To bypass Dr. M’s defenses, Sly needed the help of the Cooper Gang. First, Sly and Bentley seek out Murray, who had left the team out of guilt for causing Bentley’s leg injury, which eventually left him paralyzed. They discover that Murray had relocated to Venice, Italy, where he was training under a peace-loving mentor known as the Guru. Murray had taken on a task to clean the canals, a mission given by the Guru. He refuses to return to the team until the canals are restored. Meanwhile, Sly and Bentley track down Dimitri, who is imprisoned in a local police station. He agrees to help them find Murray if they assist him in escaping. While evading Carmelita Fox, who has grown more hostile toward criminals since their last encounter, Sly locates Murray. After some planning, they take down Octavio, a mob boss who had been poisoning the canals with tar as part of a scheme to revive opera in the city. During the mission, Octavio injures Bentley, which angers Murray so much that he abandons his training and defeats Octavio in a battle. Octavio is arrested, and Murray rejoins the team.
