Starsky & Hutch is an arcade-style racing game inspired by the iconic 1970s TV series, developed to coincide with the release of the movie. The game features 18 missions, each modeled after an episode from the original show and narrated by Antonio "Huggy Bear" Fargas. It also includes a free-roam mode where players can explore a GTA-like cityscape in search of danger and excitement. Much like the movie, the game takes a lighthearted approach to the source material. Starsky & Hutch are actually filming a television series, and your performance in each mission affects the show's ratings. After each mission, you receive a gold, silver, or bronze medal based on your driving skills. To unlock a second season, you need at least one gold and two silvers in season one. For a third season, you must earn three golds and two silvers in season two. In most missions, the main objective is to pursue and eliminate a criminal's vehicle. Each mission also includes a secondary target. Players can boost their ratings by hitting enemies, performing stylish stunts like jumps and skids, nearly colliding with pedestrians, and hitting bonus items like canisters scattered throughout the levels. However, hitting civilians will reduce your ratings.
