White Day: A Labyrinth Named School follows a young man as he enters a school in the dead of night to deliver candy to So-yeong, a girl he has feelings for, in observance of the Eastern holiday, White Day. Shortly after arriving, he finds himself trapped, and his new goal becomes escaping the school.
White Day is a chilling horror-survival game that, for the first time in its genre, presents the entire experience through a first-person viewpoint. It plays out like a cinematic story. The player assumes the role of a lovesick teenager who sneaks into his school late at night to return his crush’s lost diary and deliver a White Day candy as a gesture of affection. The game introduces two key characters as they share ghost stories in one of the school’s many eerie hallways. Soon after, the player’s immediate task becomes disabling the school’s alarm system. As this challenge unfolds, the tone turns ominous when the player encounters the school janitor, armed with a baseball bat, and hears the unsettling laughter of young, ghostly children. White Day does not offer any weapons, but it features a variety of clever puzzles along the way: players must disable security systems, crack open combination locks, and rescue trapped students from strange supernatural entities. The difficulty level allows players to immerse themselves in the story while continuously raising the stakes and the challenge.
